COVID-19 Information
MESSAGE FROM DEACON DAVE
May 29, 2021 - I want to thank all of you for your understanding and love for each other over the past year regarding the virus. It has been a difficult time for everyone. While we have made it through this difficult time, we still need to be on guard against the virus. Over the next few weeks, we will make some of the biggest changes in returning to worship since the church re-opened last year.
GENERAL CHANGES
- Masks are optional at Mass. Masks are welcome and remain highly encouraged for anyone who feels more comfortable and safer wearing one while attending Mass, or anyone who has not yet received a vaccine. Priests and deacons are still asked to wear masks before and after Mass and during the distribution of Communion.
- Effective June 5/6, 2021, as you enter the church you will notice the section to the right or on the east side of the church is still set up for social distancing. This area is for those that still need or desire to social distance.
- Hand sanitizer will be available before and after Mass on a table at the entrance. We will no longer distribute hand sanitizer before Communion.
- Holy water is now in each of the fonts.
These are big changes from where we had been. The one thing that has not changed is God’s love for each one of us. We heard in the Gospel several weeks ago Jesus commands us to, “love one another.” This love for one another must be without regard to our own feelings. It is a must, there are no options. Regardless how we feel about all that has happened over the past year, we are still called to be disciples of Christ, live the Gospel, and love one another.
BISHOP'S DISPENSATION
October 5, 2020 - Bishop Ricken has REINSTATED THE DISPENSATION FROM THE OBLIGATION TO ATTEND SUNDAY MASS in the diocese until further notice. We will continue to celebrate the Mass every weekend for those who are able to attend and are willing to strictly follow the proper health protocols. During this time of increased infection, our parish will to be even more vigilant about following the diocesan guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID 19 and allow as many people as is safe to come to Mass without fear of infection.
Within the diocese the following guidelines for public Masses will continue:
- Face masks are required,
- The standards of social distancing will still be upheld,
- Sanitation standards will still be followed.
St. Paul Parish will continue to offer a recorded Mass each Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Please log in to our website at stpaulcl.com and join us from the safety of your home.
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! It will take many hands in the areas of hospitality and maintenance to welcome everyone back to Mass safely. If you're able to help, please call the Parish Office at 920.788.4553 or email Gina at gschmalz@stpaulcl.com.
