WHY OFFER MASS INTENTIONS?
MASS INTENTIONS are the most perfect form of prayer. When a priest celebrates Mass, he offers the celebration of the Eucharist for a particular intention. In doing so, special graces from God are offered for that person or intention. Just as we are able to intercede for others by our personal prayers, the Church intercedes for us through the Mass. The Eucharist possesses a power that our personal prayers do not.
