26th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sep 27, 2019
Mark your calendars for our Fall Festival on the weekend of October 26th and 27th. We will once again have a polka Mass at the 4:00pm Mass on October 26th. Raffle tickets are now available for pick-up in the back of Church with your name on them. A special thank you to Jacobs Meat Market for sponsoring the printing of our raffle tickets this year. Tickets are $20/each with the grand prize at $5,000 once again this year and 49 other cash prizes. We will only be selling 1,200 tickets so your odds of winning are 1:24. We do have many more than 1,200 tickets printed but we only accept the first 1,200. Please sell as many raffle tickets as you can to help make this year’s Fall Festival Raffle a success. Everyone’s help is needed. We only have four more weeks to sell 1,200 tickets. Also, we are now accepting donations of new and handcrafted items for our silent auction. Donations can be brought to the parish office during the week, or can be given to an usher or greeter on Sunday. Let’s work together to make this year’s Fall Festival a wonderful celebration for our parish.
Last weekend and this weekend are the commitment weekends for our parish/diocesan capital campaign. Three weeks ago I talked about the campaign in my homily. The last two weekends, as well as a weekend this past June, we heard witness talks about the importance of the campaign. Last weekend and this weekend we are now asking all parish families to make a commitment to the one by One Campaign. Because we have such great needs that need to be addressed over the next few years we do need all parish members to do your part to help us achieve our goals which will help us remain a strong vibrant parish for years to come. Many have come before us to leave this parish as a gift to us. Now it is time for us to do our part to ensure we leave this parish as a gift for future generations, while at the same time working together today, will even help us grow in our faith as a parish community now and for years to come. Please be generous. Addressing these critical needs will ensure that our parish is well prepared to face the current and future needs of our parish, while continuing to meet the spiritual, educational, and pastoral needs of our parish for years to come. Plans are coming along for our new music ministry area, as well as some much needed sound, lighting, and electrical improvements inside our church. We are actively working with the architect now to bid out the project with general contractors. It is our hope to begin the actual construction in the next few months.
This week Friday, October 4th is First Friday. We will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 4pm. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come and spend some time before our Eucharistic Lord on Friday. Saturday, October 5th is First Saturday. We will have Mass at 8:00am on Saturday.
Have a Great Week!
