Father's Reflections Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Oct 26, 2018

Dear St. Paul Family,

Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make our Fall Festival last weekend a success.  A special thank you to Jim and Shari Beck and their family for providing the music at the Polka Mass and their musical entertainment, and to everyone who coordinated and helped in all of the different areas; the Bake Sale, the Mission Sewing Quilt Sale, Food and Concessions, the delicious All you Can Eat Taco Bar on Saturday night, Children’s Games and Entertainment, Cribbage Tournament, Silent Auction, Raffles, Country Store, Mary’s Girls, and our St. Paul Knights of Columbus Council for providing the wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning.  Thank you to the Faith Formation Families for all of the donations for the Faith Formation Bucket Raffles and to everyone who donated to the Silent Auction and in many other ways.  Thank you to Barb Glasheen, our Festival Chairperson, for the outstanding job she did, and to the Fall Festival Committee for all of their wonderful work organizing this event.  Thank you also to Jacobs Meat Market for donating the printing of our raffle tickets this year.

Congratulations to all of the winners of our raffles!  A listing of winners is inserted into the bulletin this weekend.  This is the 3rd year in a row now in the 8 years that we have been doing this raffle that we reached our 1,200 ticket quota for our cash raffle.  This is tremendous!  I do appreciate the efforts of everyone who helped us to meet our quota.  I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful parish community.  May God Bless you All.

We congratulate our 14 Confirmation Candidates who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay.  We pray for them as they are sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit this weekend.

This coming Thursday, November 1
st, is All Saints Day.  THIS IS A HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION.  This means we are obligated to attend Mass this day just as we are every Sunday.  The schedule of the Mass times is in this weekend’s bulletin.

Friday, November 2
nd is All Souls’ Day and First Friday.  We will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 4pm on Friday.  Please consider signing up by the Mother of Perpetual Help icon in the front of Church if you are able to sign up for an hour.  We do need two people per hour.  Saturday, November 3rd is First Saturday.  We will have Mass at 8am on Saturday this coming week.

Next Saturday at the 4:00pm Mass we will remember all who have died from our parish this past year.  Let us gather at a parish family to pray in a special way for those who have died this past year along with their families.  During the Month of November, the month of All Souls, we remember all who have died, so we invite you to write the name of your deceased loved ones on the luminary bags in back of church and these will be illumined by candle light and lining the sidewalks in the front of church as you come to Mass next Saturday evening.  Thank you to the Paul Cares Committee and the Knights of Columbus for helping with this time of prayer.

Have a Wonderful Week!

Blessings,
Fr. Andy
