Father's Reflections Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jan 12, 2018
Dear St. Paul Family,
January 22nd marks the very sad 1973 U.S. Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion civilly legal in our nation. Let us pray as a Church and as a nation that this decision will soon be overturned, and that a greater respect for all human life will return once again to our nation. Please join Bishop David Ricken for the annual Diocesan Respect Life Mass this coming Tuesday, January 16th, at 6:00pm at St. Pius X Parish in Appleton.
Now that the Christmas Season has come to an end, the next season, cold and flu season is upon us. We will continue to offer Holy Communion under both species, the Precious Body and the Precious Blood, but please be prudent. If you are feeling ill, please refrain from receiving the Precious Blood until you are feeling better out of concern for all your brothers and sisters with whom you come to worship with. Let’s try to keep each other as healthy as we can during this time. Out of reverence for Jesus who is truly present in both the Precious Body and Precious Blood, please remember to bow your head before both species even if you don’t receive from both while processing through the Communion line. Also, at the Sign of Peace, if you are feeling ill, instead of a handshake, perhaps just wish the persons near year a verbal sign of peace.
Have a Wonderful Week!
