Deacon George began his role as Deacon and Director of Faith Formation at St. Paul back in August of 1984. In his position as Deacon he helps families prepare for Baptism and is part of a team called FOCCUS. FOCCUS is an instrument used for engaged couples to help in their communication skills prior to getting married. As Deacon, he also assists people who for one reason or another are seeking an annulment. As Director of Faith Formation, Deacon George is there to help all students better understand their call to discipleship through structured classes and faith experiences. His main emphasis focuses on the children, but adult and family opportunities to learn are also promoted. Deacon George's favorite part of his ministry can be found when he's teaching. Deacon says, "My favorite thing is seeing the beauty of a student's face lighting up when a concept is understood for the first time and a closer relationship is established with God because of this experience." |
