Combined Locks, Wisconsin

Middle School Faith Formation

5th - 8th grade youth attend on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Each grade's class is led by dedicated, caring catechists and aides who love Jesus and love the Church.

Our goal is always to help the youth meet Jesus Christ by praying, learning, and living their Catholic Christian faith in a community of disciples.

Our curriculum, Christ Our Life: New Evangelization Edition, was published by Loyola Press in 2016.

There is a Home Learning Guide that contains chapter-by-chapter summaries for each grade level.

  • The fifth-grade program of the Christ Our Life series, We Worship, focuses on the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, the center of Christian life. The scope and sequence is here

  • The sixth-grade program of the Christ Our Life series is devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed in Sacred Scripture, particularly the Old Testament. God Calls a People is designed to help the students increase their knowledge of salvation history so that they may respond to God with ever-deepening love and gratitude. The scope and sequence is here.

  •  The seventh-grade program of the Christ Our Life series is devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed through his Son, Jesus. Jesus the Way, the Truth, and the Life is designed to help young adolescents grow in their knowledge of Jesus, that they may love him more ardently and serve him more generously. The scope and sequence is here

  • The eighth-grade program of the Christ Our Life series is devoted to the study of God’s faithful love as it is revealed in the Church founded by Jesus Christ. The Church Then and Now is designed to help young teens grow in their knowledge and love of the Church. The scope and sequence is here

Because the fifth and seventh grade classes are large and we did not have enough volunteers for two sections per grade, parents need to sign up and help as a classroom aide at least once during the year.
